Psychic Readings – How do you know if you’re good enough?
You’ve had this feeling of picking up on others’ lives and strong intuition for some time now. Many times you’re bang -on correct, others times you stumble a bit. Your intuition works best when you’re not thinking about it. Other times it’s a bit hit and miss but people comment on how insightful you are, managing to help them with everyday problems. Everyone from friends to strangers seem attracted to your listening ear.
You’ve been practising a while. You have a thirst for knowledge and buy every book you can on a variety of spiritual subjects but can’t decide which you like the most. You’ve even bought a variety of cards, from Angel decks to experimenting with Tarot. Some are your favourites, others are collecting dust at the back of the cupboard. Angel cards though feel the safest. People can’t be offended by those – right?
You like healing, helping people, and you’re intuitive.
You don’t necessarily describe yourself as psychic. That’s a scary word and one you don’t like explaining. Healing therefore feels more appropriate with a bit of intuition thrown in. Thing is, you’re growing everyday with your insightful pieces of information and it’s becoming more tricky to ignore the psychic side.
You think about it, then figure there’s no harm in giving a few Angel card readings. You do it for fun and for friends, making it very clear to people you don’t charge or they can ‘donate’ what they want to. This way it doesn’t matter if the ‘Not good enough’ Gremlin pays a visit. It doesn’t matter because you’re not charging, not doing anyone any harm.
When then is the point at which you’re good enough?
If the above story is your story then you’re at the crucial ‘Am I good enough’ crossroads. You’re starting to get the itchy feeling you want to make more of your psychic readings but you’re strongly held back by wanting to know when you’re enough.
The fact is you’re never going to be enough. That is how you’ll see yourself. There is never a perfect time. None of us are perfect, sometimes we have to give things a go, fall flat on our face, get up and dust ourselves off to start again. It’s the only way to gain experience.
Fear of Criticism
It’s not unusual, it’s actually perfectly normal for a psychic reader to go through the tremendous fear of criticism. If you didn’t fear criticism, it would be arrogant. The fear of criticism keeps your standards high. Just make sure the fear of it doesn’t cripple you. The fear of criticism should be a healthy driving force to do the best of what you can do for someone.
Readings are about perspective, not about fixing things
A healthy psychic reading is about helping someone to gain perspective on a situation in life. It’s not your job or responsibility to fix what’s broken. Many people seeking a reading will be looking for a magic answer. Your ‘magic answer’ is to look at the energy of perspective. To help someone in a rightful way, to offer the information gently, in a way that’s kind to receive. You’re good enough the moment your heart is open and your ego under wraps…

Hi. I have tarot cards I give my friends readings (only 6 card readings as I’m still practicing)
Most of the time the readings are pretty good.
I have in the past say txt ppl and have known what they are feeling or doing.
But I’m not sure how to bulid on it. I’ve always been a tad strange ( as well meaning friends would say)
I can’t afford to pay for lessons on how to build on what I have.
I would really love to use what I have to help others I’m very empathetic but no idea how to.
I would be glad of any advice. Xx
Hi Teresa
Practice is always good regarding Tarot. Continue to do that for friends but expand your ability by increasing the number of cards you use. That will help you to go further with the depth and concentration required in order to do good readings. You have to remember, put yourself to one side and all your own insecurities whilst putting the person you are reading for ahead. That is the only way for you to get beyond your own opinions and into the depths of your intuition.

I don’t use cards to read for anyone. I just start seeing things or hearing and seeing things about them. I feel like I actually go into their homes because I can describe a particular part of their home as well as people around them. I have always chalked this up to an active imagination however for the past year I have come to realize my dreams, visions and racing thoughts are actually spirits and guides telling me. I get a movie in my mind or hear a description of the picture being drawn in my mind. Anyway I practice lots with friends and my fiance’s relatives some using pictures they send me and some just off of what I see around them but I have been on alot but also have been wrong. Weird thing for me is I will describe a room or a pain in their body to a complete “T” but it will be reversed. (like if I say its the left side they will say no its on the right but the pain is in that exact spot or my bed is on the left with a picture above it not on the right. but everything else is exact) whats up with that??? (still wondering when i will be good enough to do readings….)
I connect with spirits on the “other side”; mostly people in my life that have passed. They seem to reach out to me mostly in dreams, but they also come to me during the daytime. It is very intense. I also pick up a lot through people on “this side” in my daily life. I see through their words and facade and sometimes, it is overwhelming. I find myself wanting to be alone more, because I see/feel negative energy and can hear what they really are thinking vs. what they say. I pick up on peoples energy even by walking by someone to casually say “hello” in the office. I am trying to learn to deal with it, as I don’t want to become a hermit, but I do need to separate from people and recharge often. I find through art and music, and biofeedback helps me to regain balance.
I went to a psychic who said that I have the ability, but I don’t use it. I have to admit, I am scared of it, because what I see is more negative than positive and I don’t want to face that side of life. On the other hand, I feel like there is some responsibility that comes with having this ability. I find I give people a sense of closure when someone that has passed in their life sends me a message.
