Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my question - you certainly put an interesting spin on the subject and I strongly suspect I will have to read and re-read it quite a few times to fully understand the concept and implications as the idea of accepting that we effectively house two personalities (spirit and ego) is a far reaching one.

My initial thought (though probably ego based!) is that at first glance, it seems like such a sad waste of the individual lifetime and as the ripple effect touches loved ones spanning literally family generations, it's very sad that they are robbed of someone they love, day by day, week by week, year by year, up to an eventual death.. even after death they deal with the waste and loss, feeling powerless to have effected any change and wondering if they had loved more, or in a different way, might it have been different... it can seem very sad and futile (to me).

Maybe it shouldn't really be thought of 'sad' as maybe that family of souls chose to be born into that life experience to learn from the wealth of feelings and challenges that are unavoidably faced. Sadly, people only really seem to stop and consider their actions, and those of others, when faced with challenging events... when we're happy and everything runs smoothly, we don't really question our existence or experiences. It's a fact of life that we learn and develop far more from difficult times and so difficult times must really be viewed as a good thing I guess.

So, a fresh spin might be that you could perhaps look at it as 'happy' (soul) development rather than 'sad' (ego) lifetime...

I'm glad that we don't carry the addiction forwards and although I thought it inititally sad that someone who has passed over would feel embarrassed and saddened by their actions in their life and with their loved ones, I think the point is that our purpose is to develop and learn, even after death, so it's all good.

To digress just a little, I think it's hard to determine which 'personality' is advising you at different times, you say that the ego takes care of the physical body in times of danger, which it certainly does in many instances but I feel the lines can be blurred as I have had times when I have found myself in dangerous situations and feel that an inexplicable intuitive response has nudged my conscious body to feel suitably fearful... alerted me, so to speak... but then is intuition taking care of soul or physical body??? Arggghh!! So many questions..

Like I said... print and read... then re-read! Besides, I'm sat here now wondering who is typing this.. ego self with admiration of colourful prose or spirit self really busy trying to work it all out and learn something...

Thanks very much (I feel a private reading booking coming on)
